Who it suits
Ledger numbers each section in a single serif column, which gives long, structured resumes a clear order. It suits finance, accounting, law, research, consulting and any role where the reader values order and where you have several kinds of content to present: roles, certifications, publications, projects.
How the layout works
- A header with name, headline and contact, with optional photo.
- Sections laid out as a numbered list, separated by line rules.
- Serif type with a navy accent.
- One column, in the order you set.
ATS notes
Ledger is a single column with real text and no tables, so it is labelled ATS-safe. The numbers are drawn by the page style rather than typed into the text, so the headings themselves stay plain and easy to recognise.
When to pick something else
You want a light, modern look for a design or startup role. Choose Modern or Editorial.
Tips for filling it in
- Order sections to match what the job post cares about first.
- The numbering helps you refer to sections in a cover letter or interview.
- Keep entries consistent: same date format, same level of detail.
Ledger template questions
Why numbered sections?
They make the structure obvious and make long resumes easier to scan, which suits finance, legal and research readers.
Is Ledger ATS-friendly?
It is one of the single-column, text-only layouts labelled ATS-safe. That is a good starting point, not a promise about any one employer’s software.
