Who it suits
Margin draws a bold accent bar down the left edge and keeps everything else in a single column. It reads as organised and decisive, with more personality than Classic but the same simple structure. It suits project managers, nurses, administrators, retail and operations roles, and anyone who wants a visible but conservative accent.
How the layout works
- A thick accent bar at the left edge of the page.
- A header with name, headline and contact, then sections in one column.
- Short accent rules under headings; red accent by default.
- A mix of serif and sans type.
ATS notes
Margin is labelled ATS-safe: one column of real text with no tables or text boxes. The bar is a styled edge, not content, so it does not interfere with reading order.
When to pick something else
You want a very formal, no-colour page for law or academia. Ledger or Academic suit that tone better.
Tips for filling it in
- A darker accent colour looks more formal; a brighter one looks more energetic.
- Leave extra margin on the left when you print; the bar sits near the edge.
- Keep section headings plain so a parser can recognise them.
